Rainy Morning - New Umbrella

Rainy Morning - New Brella Originally uploaded by EclipseAu While I was waiting for the bus this morning (which was late again) I seized the opportunity to snap a pic of my new umbrella. It was good to see some rain again as the land around our place was starting to get a bit brown and crunchy.

Waiting at platform 3

Waiting at platform 3 Originally uploaded by EclipseAu Each weekday morning, I jump on the same train at the same platform to take the same long (1hr), and most times cramped, journey to work. Whilst this may sound like a whinge (to be truthful the cramped part is) it is actually quite good to have this time out. During this time on the train, I get to listen to some music, surf the web a bit, do some blogging and just generally chillax. Then on the way home I do more of the same but I find this time is a great time to unwind from the sometimes stressful day at work. I used to really HATE this trip to work and back, with a slight change in attitude and perception I have come to realize the benefits of my twice daily chill out time.

Waiting on the train (indefinately)

Waiting on the train (indefinately) Originally uploaded by EclipseAu On the way to work this morning, as the train pulled into Oxley station it started playing up. We have been told that the train will be delayed about 15 min. Update: now we have been told that the train will be delayed indefinately. Update 2: Aparently the overhead lines are down at corinda and it is affecting all inbound and outbound serviced on the Ipswich line. Update 3: they have now told us that it will be unlikely that we will move anywhere until at least 9am

Dozey Eye Retina Scald

Dozey Eye Retina Scald Originally uploaded by EclipseAu On the way home from work, on the train tonight I occasioned to purloin a few lazy winks (40 to be exact). However, as one is wont to do when dozing on the train, you open a little sleepy peeper at the exact time the sun appears from behind some trees. Result = scorched retinas and a big yellow/white dot in my vision for I don't know how long.

Last Minute Decision - Going to the Ekka

Last Minute Decision - Going to the Ekka Originally uploaded by EclipseAu On the way to TG's this morning, we decided to take the girls to the Ekka. We have never been on the last day before, but if we ever go again, it will be on the last day. The night entertainment was awesome, the girls thought that the best part of the night was the Chariot Racing.

Look Mum, no (training) wheels

[caption id="" align="alignright" width="180" caption="What a champ"] [/caption] Well today was a major milestone in CB's young life. Today is the day she learned to ride her bike without the training wheels. It all started Saturday arvo, when we heard excited voices in the backyard the a loud clang ( as we found out layer, this was the sound of CB running JP's bike into the back fence). They both ran upstairs excitedly to tell us that CB was riding the bike by herself. After this, we went out the front to the footpath, after I removed the training wheels off her bike, for some practice. She was still not confident in her new found abilities and wouldn't listen to reason, she just wanted to ride and was getting upset that she couldn't just do it. As it was late in the afternoon I told her that she had made excellent progress today and I would take her down the park in the morning where she would be able to ride easily. First thing...

Kate Ceberano Mini Concert

Kate Ceberano Mini Concert Originally uploaded by EclipseAu In the queen Street Mall at lunch today, what did I stumble across. A Nicabate Mini Concert with Jate Ceberano and Carl Risely (of Aussie Idol Fame). Kate was excellent, but Carl was only on to play the trumpet for one song in the half hour that I watched. Gr8 songs Kate, well done.
