Smythville

On the ANZAC day long weekend we journeyed to a mates property (Thanks ST) at Wyberba near Stanthorpe. We drove up the hill and walked through the bush to get to the Rocks at the top of the property. Here's Aunty A looking out over the property. .... and the boys... So impressed it seems, but they enjoyed themselves. When we got there on Saturday we were surprised to find a couple of guests on the property. The girls absolutely loved them. On Sunday Morning we went up to Girraween Day use area... Where we prepared to go for a walk to..... .....Granite Arch....... on our way there the kids climbed this huge boulder... We then headed down to Tenterfield where we took a drive to Mt McKenzie lookout where CB was acting crazy and climbing on the fence logs..... Then back down to Tenterfield for lunch (Chippy sarnies) Then a walk over to the park where all the deciduous trees (aka Autumny Trees) were out, where the kids played in the leaves and had an absolute ball. ...

The Ipswich Festival 2010 was on today and we went along to the street party. The "P!NK Show" was on at the Main stage. The P!NK impersonator was really, very excellent !! She was very energetic and sounded great. Before the street party the Street Parade was held. This pic was my favourite of the parade. Even Aunty A was in the parade. So was SML but he is mostly hidden in this pic. HINT: Look for the black hair. we even saw some Chinese dragons... And the Town Crier was a bit lazy though...

CB was invited to a birthday Party for one of her school friends. The invitation said please come to my fairy party. So off we went and bought a whole heap of fairy gear for CB, Only to find that when we got there that CB was the only one dressed as a Fairy. Never mind, she had a great time all the same.

We decided to take a trip through the Clem 7 Tunnel on the last day that it was free to go through. Then we went on to Chermside Shopping centre where we had Grill'd for lunch before going to see How to Train Your Dragon in 3D . It was awesome.

The Easter weekend saw us heading to a ST's place at Wyberba. Sunset over the Camp On the road to Wyberba, that's the B family in front of us ! We had an awesome campfire on Friday night where the girls cooked marshmallows We also had a bit of fun with sparklers. While I cooked breaky on Saturday morning the kids went off to the dam to do some yabbie catching. I eventually talked CB into picking one up. Some of the mob sitting around after breaky and Smithy just couldn't leave his GPS alone for 5 minutes. After breaky we took a stroll to the rock at the top of ST's property for a look around. You can see our campsite just in front of the big shed to the middle left of the photo. then we took off to see Ghost Gully in Tenterfield. What a let down from what I remembered it being like as a Kid. ...then off to a winery for a bit of wine tasting.... and then watching them de-stem and crush some grapes. Before heading back to catch up with LT and y...

In the school holidays Booval Fair Shopping Centre had a kiddie zoo in the main hall. The girls are suckers for a baby animal.
