Finally, haircuts.

Finally, haircuts.

Well, after what seems like an eternity and about a million dollars spent on headlice treatment chemicals, we have finally been able to get the girls a haircut.

The school system sucks for it's political correctness and civilian rights. When I contacted the school about their policy on headlice, I was politely informed that the school cannot search the kids heads as it is an invasion of their privacy.

Invasion of privacy, what about the invasion by headlice on my childs head or the invasion on my wallet due to the prices of the treatments.

When will the Queensland Department of Education wake up to themselves. I'm sure most of the policies are drafted and approved by burecrats who do not have children or at least are do not have children currently at school.

Make the parents accountable for their lack of action. If an outbreak occurs in a class ( 1 case ) the children should be excluded from class untill proof is provided to the school that the child has been treated. Parental accountability should not be transferred onto the teachers as is so often the case.

First Day Back

Well, today is the day. The first day back at work after a 5 weeks off with the kids. You couldn't really call it a holiday though as we didn't go away anywhere. Surprisingly, I am actually not apprehensive about the return to work as the break was sufficiently long enough to clear my head of all the troubles and happenings of the past year. That and I enjoy the work I do, in the main.
