Look Mum, no (training) wheels

Well today was a major milestone in CB's young life.

Today is the day she learned to ride her bike without the training wheels.

It all started Saturday arvo, when we heard excited voices in the backyard the a loud clang ( as we found out layer, this was the sound of CB running JP's bike into the back fence). They both ran upstairs excitedly to tell us that CB was riding the bike by herself.

After this, we went out the front to the footpath, after I removed the training wheels off her bike, for some practice. She was still not confident in her new found abilities and wouldn't listen to reason, she just wanted to ride and was getting upset that she couldn't just do it.

As it was late in the afternoon I told her that she had made excellent progress today and I would take her down the park in the morning where she would be able to ride easily.

First thing in the morning, we went down the park. One push was all it took. She was off and never looked back. She rode for so long that her hands got tired.

We are very proud of her efforts, but even more so her tenacity of kepping on going even after some good spills at the bmx track in the afternoon

Good on ya, CB.

Pics to follow 2nite !!!

First Day Back

Well, today is the day. The first day back at work after a 5 weeks off with the kids. You couldn't really call it a holiday though as we didn't go away anywhere. Surprisingly, I am actually not apprehensive about the return to work as the break was sufficiently long enough to clear my head of all the troubles and happenings of the past year. That and I enjoy the work I do, in the main.
