Dancefever Interschool Championships

Today, we all trekked down to the Sleeman Sports Centre to watch JP dance in the Dancefever Interschool championships.

There were 8 Schools participating (Marshall Road State School - Holland Park, St Ignatius - Toowoong, St Flannans - Zillmere, Holy Family - Indooroopilly, Mt Carmel - Coorparoo, Hendra State School - Hendra, Mary MacKillop - Birkdale and of course the best St Marys - Ipswich).

Well we had a ball and so did JP.

The first dance of the day was the Waltz. JP and her partner TH were selected to dance in the semi final and then the grand final. Way to go JP and TH. Unluckily they didn't place but danced up a storm and really enjoyed themselves.

The second dance of the day was the Mambo. Again, JP and her partner TH were selected to dance in the semi final and then the grand final. Unluckily again they didn't place.

Last event of the day was the school challenge. JP's school did an awesome secret agent dance.

Big Nanna and Grandad were with us today to cheer JP on.

We were very proud of JP's achievements. Well Done JP.

First Day Back

Well, today is the day. The first day back at work after a 5 weeks off with the kids. You couldn't really call it a holiday though as we didn't go away anywhere. Surprisingly, I am actually not apprehensive about the return to work as the break was sufficiently long enough to clear my head of all the troubles and happenings of the past year. That and I enjoy the work I do, in the main.
